This book starts with a panoramic sweep across the world, showing – with archetypal cases – how every religion has groups today thumping women down with its Holy Book. Their words and commands reflect this, plainly and bluntly. They worship a thug.”Įvery major religion’s texts were written at a time when women were regarded as little better than talking cattle. They worship a God who is a male who gangs up with other males against women. They argue: “What would otherwise look like stark bullying is very often made respectable and holy by a putative religious law or aphorism or scriptural quotation. In Does God Hate Women? they forensically dismantle the last respectable misogyny. Ophelia Benson and Jeremy Stangroom are the editors of Butterflies and Wheels, the best atheist site on the web. I have to treat women as lesser beings, because it is inscribed in my Holy Book.” After all the arguments for subordinating women have been shown to be self-serving lies, what are misogynists left with? They have only one feeble argument that is still deferred to and shown undeserving respect across the world, even by people who should know better: “God told me to.

Focusing on crossover as a transgression of the sociocultural boundaries, this article moreover suggests that the investigation of crossover literature should situate the text in its context of production and reception. This article argues that a text’s crossover potential is more about the way of representation than the subject matter itself, and the significance of the way of representation for the text’s crossover potential comes to the fore when it is translated into another language. Crossover yet can refer to boundary crossing in more than one sense - generic and sociocultural. Crossover literature generally denotes literature that blurs child readership and adult readership, in other words, literature that transgresses the age boundaries. Scope of the story is larger, and yet book almost manage to move as fast as the previous book (though there were few moments which I thought were kind of a drag). Some of the characters are cunning yet funny. I enjoyed this portion of the book that author does not let the narrative get dull with endless chatter.
